| Can NetTracker analyze content delivered to users by client technologies like Macromedia Flash and other browser plug-ins? |
|
If the plug-in passes information to the Web server in a form that
is logged in the Web server's log file, NetTracker should be able to
analyze it. Two methods for analyzing content delivered by browser
plug-ins are tracking parameters and tracking page requests.
You can set up Macromedia Flash to pass information to the Web server via parameters in the query string. (See Macromedia's Rich Media Advertising Resource Center
for details.) Because the query string is written to the log file, you
can configure NetTracker to report on those parameters. You can then
use the parameter values as filters in custom reports and visitor
profiles to provide a more complete view of your users' behavior. (See The NetTracker Parameter Summary for details on configuring NetTracker to report on parameters. See Unleashing the Power of NetTracker for details on filtering custom reports.)
Another
way to track users' behavior in the plug-in is to analyze which pages
the plug-in requests from the server. For example, if the browser
plug-in requests specific groups of pages depending on the users'
behavior, you can create content groups, visitor profiles, and custom
reports to analyze how often these pages are delivered.
