This article describes the process of configuring Microsoft Outlook Express version 6. Other versions should be very similar but may deviate slightly from the steps below. To add an email account profile, begin by selecting the "Tools" menu and choosing the "Accounts" option. Click on the "Add" button and choose the "Mail" option.
In the "Display Name" field, enter your full name as you want it to appear on messages that you send. Click "Next".
In the "Email Address" blank, enter your email address. Click "Next".
Make sure the option for "My incoming mail server is..." is set to "POP3". In the "Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) Server" field type "mail.profitability.net". In the "Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server" field type the outgoing mail server for your Internet Service Provider. As a convenience, we have a list of servers for some providers. Click "Next".
In the "Account Name" field, enter your email address. In the "Password" field, enter your password. If you do not wish to be asked for the password every time you check your email, make sure the "Save Password" box is checked. Click "Next".
Click "Finish" to complete the configuration of Outlook Express.
